This policy explains what information MacroFLIP collects, how we use it, who we share it with, how it is disclosed, and how we keep it safe.
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. As you use MacroFLIP, we collect the recipes, ingredients, and nutrition details you submit, any goals or dietary preferences you set, and the information you choose to add to your profile. If you purchase a Pro membership, your payment details are collected and handled by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number. We also collect standard technical and usage information, such as how features are used, to keep the service running and improve it.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to create and maintain your account, analyze and flip your recipes, save your recipe history, manage your membership and billing, respond to support requests, send renewal and trial reminders you request, and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Parties We Share Information With
We share information only with the service providers that make MacroFLIP work: Stripe (payment processing, subscription management, and fraud prevention), the AI and public food-database services used to parse recipes and estimate nutrition, and our email delivery provider for transactional messages such as renewal reminders. Each provider receives only the information needed to perform its function.
4. How Information Is Disclosed
Information is transmitted to these parties only through encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) to their official APIs, and only when the related feature is used — for example, a recipe you submit for analysis is sent to our nutrition-estimation service, and billing details go to Stripe when you check out. We do not disclose your information for advertising, and we only share it with anyone else if legally required or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
5. Your Recipes and Shared Content
Your saved recipes are private to your account and cannot be viewed by other members. If you choose to share a recipe to the Community tab, it becomes visible to other users along with any ratings and reviews you post. You can stop sharing at any time.
6. Security Practices
We protect your information using encryption in transit, strict per-user access controls so one member can never see another member's private data, secrets and payment credentials stored in a protected vault rather than in app code, and verification of all payment webhooks to prevent tampering. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable and appropriate measures to safeguard your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access.
7. Data Retention and Your Rights
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. You may request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal information at any time through the Contact Support form, and you can request account deletion from your Profile page.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated within the service, and the date below reflects the current version.
